It’s February in New England. Kids are supposed to be sled riding not bike riding! That hasn’t been the case this week and today was no exception since the temperature was nearly 65 degrees.
This warm patch of weather caused the kids to raid the shed for all their spring and summer outdoor toys. The most popular toy at the moment is their bikes. Jamie and I were shocked to find that #3 took it upon herself to declare that the age of training wheels were dead. How could we argue against such determination? Jamie removed the training wheels as requested.
Lo and behold, she got right on and rode that bike like a pro! I wasn’t around for the maiden voyage but I got to see her expertise first hand this afternoon.
She is a pro! She also keeps right up there with her brother, sister and all the neighborhood kids which we know was her motivation.
I think this is the first of many things we are going to witness where her determination to keep up with her siblings or peers is going to surprise us. We just hope she doesn’t grow up too fast!
